Twins Look Forward to Freshman Year at Caldwell
First year students, twins, Samael and Gamael Joseph are looking forward to their academic year at Caldwell University. Samael chose Caldwell for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. Ever since he was a child, he would watch his mom, a nurse. He was struck by āher insightsā¦ and how she helped others.ā Gamael will be pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Health Science to become a physical therapist. āMost of my family is in the medical field,ā said Gamael. That along with his own research and having the chance to shadow a professional physical therapist convinced him that he would like to pursue the field. The brothers, both Roselle Catholic graduates, ran track in high school and have joined Caldwellās track and field team.
Samael and Gamael are beneficiaries of the Caldwell Commitment program, which means they are paying zero in tuition. This new program offers full tuition to new freshman and transfer students who receive both a Federal Pell Grant and the New Jersey Tuition Aid Grant (TAG) and have at least a 3.0 high school GPA. The Josephs also benefited because of their academics and good grades. The University has implemented a transparent scholarship model awarding scholarships based on levels of academic achievement for students regardless of where they reside or of grant eligibility.
The Joseph brothers, who read together the Class of 2026 prayer at New Student Convocation Aug. 29, are very grateful. āIt is a blessingāthat someone actually sees the work we put inānot only a personal blessing but a blessing from God,ā said Samael. ###
