Thank you to Keyboard Lab Donors

The Music Department is extremely grateful to the many donors who contributed to purchase a new Yamaha Clavinova Piano Lab. The previous lab had been installed in 1997 and had outlasted the expected 10-15 year life span. Fundraising began with a generous donation from alumna Eileen Curtis in the fall of 2023 and continued with donations from the Caldwell Kiwanis, many alumni, staff and faculty. The School of Arts and Sciences hosted a concert and reception on October 20, 2024, recognizing many donors and raising more funds. A request was made at the Christmas Spectacular Concert on December 6, resulting in several generous gifts and reaching the goal. In January, some of the old pianos were donated, the room was emptied, painted and the carpeting cleaned. On Monday January 13 a truck rolled up, the new pianos were assembled and installed by Andy Favatella of Rockaway Music. The new piano lab was tested out by Prof. Eric Olsen and was ready for students when classes began on Tuesday! A reception will be held and all donors will be recognized.
