Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for New Counseling Art Therapy Community Treatment Center

The community is invited to Caldwell University’s ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its new Counseling Art Therapy Community Treatment Center. The event is free and open to the public and will take place Saturday, March 11 from 12 noon to 3 p.m. in the Student Center Gym and Art Therapy Center on campus.
Guests will include: NJ Senator Richard J. Codey, former NJ Governor, and Mrs. Mary Jo Codey ‘77, alumna of Caldwell University and Caldwell University President Matthew Whelan, Ed.D., and Mrs. Kathy Whelan.
“We are delighted to be celebrating the grand opening of the Counseling Art Therapy Community Treatment Center where we are now providing services to adults in the local area,” said Cindy Concannon, director of the Center.
Attendees will have the opportunity to take part in art-making for self-expression. An experiential workshop will be led by adjunct art therapy faculty member Maria Lupo, a board-certified art therapist, and eco-artist.
Local watercolor artist Marilyn Rose, who was selected for artist residencies in NYC’s Bryant Park and Arad, Israel, will demonstrate live loose watercolor sketches as the event is happening.
The Counseling Art Therapy Community Treatment Center staff will be providing information about the center and hands-on experiences.

Counseling Art Therapy services are available to the public on the campus of Caldwell University. Counseling Art Therapy services have been used to enhance the lives of individuals and families through art-making and verbal processing. Counseling Art Therapy services can help solve problems such as:

Caldwell offers highly qualified undergraduate psychology and art majors a combined B.A. in Psychology/ M.A. in counseling with an Art Therapy Concentration.
Caldwell offers graduate programs in art therapy including an M.A. in Counseling with Art Therapy Specialization and a postgraduate M.A. in Art Therapy.
