New Jersey’s 24/7 Peer Support & Suicide Prevention Hotline.  Need someone to talk to?  Specialists are available for confidential telephone counseling and support 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

2ndfloor is a statewide helpline that provides 24/7 comfort, advice and information to young people ages 10 – 24. Young people can call 2ndfloor to talk or if they just need someone to listen. No topic is off limits, and all calls are anonymous and confidential.

LGBTQ

  • Trevor Lifeline: 1-866-488-7386

Trevor Lifeline is dedicated to youth dealing with thoughts of suicide or self-harm.  Trained staffers will take your calls and help you at any time of the day or night.  No issue is off limits.

Domestic Violence

  • National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-SAFE (7233)

A free and confidential hotline for victims of domestic violence. Services provided include information, education, safety planning and referrals to local agencies and programs

Sexual Assault

  • Rainn.org: The National Sexual Assault 24-hour Hotline: 1-800-656-4673

A free and confidential hotline for victims of sexual assault, rape and, or incest. Information, education, risk reduction.

  • Essex County’s 24-hour Rape Crisis Hotline: 1-877-733-2273

A team of staff and volunteer Rape Care Advocates are available for mobile dispatch to hospitals and police stations around the clock to assist victims as they go through the difficult procedures and decision-making process following an assault.

Veterans

  • NJ Vet 2 Vet: 1-866-838-7654

A confidential toll-free hotline that was created for veterans who reside in New Jersey. Peer counselors are available to answer veteran’s calls seven days a week, 24 hours a day about dealing with distress and readjusting to civilian life. Clinicians respond to inquiries and make referrals related to handling bouts of depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and frequent nightmares. Family members of vets are also encouraged to call this helpline.
