New students (incoming freshmen and transfers) can qualify for additional scholarships up to full tuition.
Full tuition grants and scholarships are being awarded to incoming freshman and transfer students for who receive both Federal Pell Grants and the New Jersey Tuition Aid Grant (TAG) and have at least a 3.0 high school GPA.
- The Federal Pell Grant program awards need-based grants to low-income undergraduate students.
- The New Jersey Tuition Aid Grant (TAG) is a need-based financial aid program for full-time undergraduate students who reside in New Jersey and are enrolled in an approved degree or certificate program.
The “Caldwell Commitment” program provides transparent scholarship and grant monies to students entering Caldwell University based on academic merit and financial needs. Awards may cover tuition, the comprehensive fee and technology fee.
Students who want to take advantage of the Caldwell Commitment grant must be admitted to Caldwell University and file the free application for Federal Student Aid known as FAFSA by the February 1st priority deadline to determine eligibility.
Additionally, academic scholarships for all admitted students regardless of federal and state grant eligibility will be awarded on the basis of high school GPA as follows:

Additional Financial Aid
For students who are not eligible for the program, Caldwell provides other generous financial aid awards with significant need-based assistance in addition to the merit scholarship program to help make a university education affordable. See below for details.
Scholarships and Grants
Athletic Scholarships
Awarded to full-time students with exceptional athletic ability participating in a NCAA Division II sport. Athletic awards vary and may be used for tuition and room and board.
Caldwell Grants
Awarded to full-time freshmen and transfer students who submit a completed FAFSA and demonstrate financial need. Grants range from $1,000 to $25,000 and are reviewed annually based on your family’s financial need.
Catholic High School Scholarship
First time, full-time freshman who will be graduating from a Catholic high school. Scholarship amount is $2,000.
Federal Grants
A Federal Pell Grant is awarded to students who qualify, based on your family’s income, assets and other data you provided when filing the FAFSA. Federal Pell grants range up to a maximum of $6,495 per year.
The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) is for students with exceptional financial need to assist them with the costs of education. This grant is only available to students who are eligible to receive a Pell grant. SEOG awards range up to $3,000 per year.
New Jersey State Programs
Students who are residents of the State of New Jersey for a minimum of 12 consecutive months may be eligible for Tuition Aid Grants (TAG) or Educational Opportunity Fund Grants (EOF) based on need as determined by filing the FAFSA or alternative state forms. TAG ranges up to a maximum of $13,196 per year.
Based on community service and leadership experience. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $5,000.
Talent Scholarships
Awarded to students with interest in art or music; portfolio or audition required. Scholarships range from $500 to $5,000.
