Caldwell Places 167 On CACC Academic Honor Roll For Fall 2023
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Today the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) announced its first Academic Honor Roll, highlighting the academic achievements of student-athletes across all league sports during the Fall 2023 year. Ten Cougars earned the highest designation, “FAR Award of Distinction Level,” for earning perfect 4.0 GPA semesters. In all, 167 Caldwell student-athletes garnered one of the three levels, including 87 in “President’s Level (3.50-3.99 GPA) and 70 at “Commissioner’s Level,” or 3.00-3.499 GPA.
The Academic Honor Roll is awarded to students who achieve these grades regardless of whether his or her sport was in its primary season, so those who compete in baseball, basketball, bowling, cross country, lacrosse, soccer, softball, track & field and volleyball are eligible.
“The CACC and its member schools work extremely hard in making sure that student-athletes excel in the classroom,” CACC Commissioner Dan Mara said. “The total number of individuals on the Academic Honor Roll illustrates the tremendous effort put forth by administrators throughout our conference in mentoring student-athletes and teaching them that a college education will take them even further then they thought possible. Our student-athletes are learning valuable life lessons by achieving tremendous success in the classroom.”
The initiative was constructed by members of the CACC’s Faculty Athletics Representatives (FAR) group, and approved by the league’s Presidents’ Council. FARs are a vital component of each institution’s athletic department as the faculty member serves as a liaison between athletic administrators/coaches/student-athletes and academic administrators/faculty.
The 10 FAR achievers are:
Ervin Chaush, Men’s Track & Field
Sarah Costanza, Women’s Soccer
Joey Datta, Men’s Cross Country and Track & Field
Megan Feehan, Women’s Soccer
