My Spanish for the Profession degree opened doors to a career centered around helping others. It first led me to work in the courts, where I assisted with translating for defendants. I then transitioned into assisting those in need of immigration services by helping them navigate complex immigration forms by translating and explaining the process. Now, as an executive recruiter, I continue to make an impact by connecting people with their dream career roles domestically and internationally, using my language and communication skills to change lives in many ways.
This career journey would not have been possible without my Spanish for the Professions degree. It not only gave me linguistic skills but it also showed me the difference between the Spanish I learned at home and the more universal Spanish used in professional settings. This program allowed me to communicate effectively across Spanish-speaking communities and continue to fulfill my life mission of making a positive impact on others.
