Department of Mathematics
Welcome to the Department of Mathematics!
Our mission is to provide an academic environment where students become competent users of mathematics and its applications. In pursuing this mission, the department focuses on designing and maintaining quality programs that address the academic needs of the students while preparing them to join the workforce (in education or industry) or to pursue graduate study. We encourage an appreciation of mathematics as a human and intellectual endeavor that is rooted in culture, history and daily life. In addition, we are committed to our students’ intellectual development as lifelong learners and productive citizens. To accomplish this mission, our faculty members also continue to grow intellectually and academically through professional development, collaborative work, and scholarly activities.
Caldwell University offers a B.A. in Mathematics, a Minor in Mathematics, and a Certificate in Actuarial Science. Students have the option to double major in mathematics and education.
Candidates for the Mathematics Middle School Endorsement are required to take a placement test to determine the necessary courses.
