Communication and Media Studies
Chaired by Robert Mann, M.A.
The Communication and Media Studies department at Caldwell University is dedicated to educating and training competitive and skilled media professionals. We offer a unique blend of practical career preparation and communication theory.
Here in the digital age, journalists, broadcasters and filmmakers must have a huge repertoire of skills. Each of our full-time professors is a media professional who is still working in the field. These professors train our students in subject areas ranging from television performance to video editing to screenwriting.
Our full-time Technical Production and Operations Manager provides guidance and support for students who are busy with editing and performance projects. You can find updates on what we are doing on the air and in the classroom on these pages.
The Department of Communication and Media Studies offers the following degrees:
- B.A. in Communication and Media Studies
- Minor in Communication and Media Studies
- Certificate in Podcasting
Statement of Outcomes Assessment
All graduating seniors seeking a B.A. in Communication and Media Studies must take the capstone course CO 420 Senior Media Seminar in the fall of their final year. As in all major courses, a grade of C or better must be attained for the course to count toward the major.
