Caldwellās representatives were led by Student Government Association president Kathleen Flynn ā15. āThe ASGA National Student Government Summit was an amazing opportunity to network with Student Government Associations across the United States, improve our leadership skills and gain invaluable information about running an innovative and efficient SG,ā she said.
Flynn was joined by Sean Puzzo ā17, vice president, Kaitlyn Kazalunas ā15, chief of staff, and Shyam Sharmaā 17, vice president for public relations.
āWorking with hundreds of student government leaders to achieve the same goals was a life- changing experience!ā Kazalunas said. āWhat we learned will improve all of our student organizations on campus.ā
āWhen President Kathleen Flynn said, āYou’re in for an amazing weekend,ā I didnāt know what to expect,ā Puzzo said. āWhat I found was a talented and exceptional group of young leaders getting together to network and learn new leadership skills that will be taken back to their campus and implemented to create and foster the leaders of today and tomorrow.ā
This was the associationās 100th conference, and 140 institutions were represented, including public, private, two-year and four-year schools. More than 500 students took part.
