“Connexum: Caldwell University Kappa Pi 2025 Alumni & Student Exhibition” is now open at the Mueller Gallery. “Connexum” is a special group exhibition featuring the work of alumni and students from Caldwell University’s Iota Epsilon chapter of Kappa Pi, the international art Honors society. The exhibition will be held from Wednesday, Feb. 5 to Saturday, March 1, 2025.

Benjamin Fernandez ’24—the exhibition curator and organizer, an alumnus of Kappa Pi, and one of the participating artists—facilitated an artists’ talk on Wednesday, Feb 5 from 5–6 pm, followed by a reception from 6–8 pm. In addition to the work on view by the twelve exhibiting artists, the back gallery features an informational presentation video about the history of Kappa Pi, created by Fernandez.

Fernandez says, “We as artists constitute a diverse range of backgrounds, educational pursuits, creative practices, and media. Together, our work has converged in celebration of our continued collective commitment to and love for art. I could not be more profoundly grateful to have collaborated with an amazing group of artists, representing both Caldwell University’s Department of Visual Art & Design and our Kappa Pi chapter, as we demonstrate—through our creative practices—the Kappa Pi motto: art colors life and enriches living.”

Originally conceived as a study group at the University of Kentucky in 1911, Kappa Pi grew into the Alpha chapter of the fraternity in 1914, with a shared objective to bond artists together to form a unit that is influential in the art department as well as the community. The history of what is now an international art Honors society has been shaped by wars, discord, changing attitudes, and numerous art movements, yet it endures. Today, Kappa Pi spans hundreds of chapters in the United States and beyond, continuing its mission to foster a community of innovation, scholarship, and companionship. The Iota Epsilon chapter at Caldwell University inducts new members every year.

The Mueller Gallery is open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visit here for directions.
