Delta Epsilon Sigma
Founded in 1939, Delta Epsilon Sigma National Scholastic Honor Society recognizes the academic achievement of undergraduate and graduate students from any degree-bearing major or program at Catholic colleges and universities. To be eligible to become a member of Caldwell University’s Beta Delta Chapter, a student must have completed at least half of the credit hours needed to graduate and earned a grade-point average of 3.6 or higher. The society offers junior, senior, and graduate student members the opportunity to apply for scholarships and service awards annually. DES also sponsors an annual undergraduate writing contest in six areas: poetry, short fiction, creative non-fiction, critical/analytical essay, scholarly empirical research, and scholarly non-empirical research. The national DES graduate award is named after Caldwell Dominican sister, Sr. Brigid Brady, O.P., Ph.D., who taught in the Department of English at the University for 43 years and was a past President of the Society.
Membership requires a one-time fee of $65.
