CALDWELL, NJ – Recognizing the commitment and sacrifice of those who serve our communities and our nation, Caldwell University will award children of military service members, police officers, firefighter or EMS personnel within the United States an additional $2,000 per year through the Caldwell Gold Ribbon Award.

“We believe that military service members and first responder personnel personify the University’s core values of respect, integrity, community and excellence,” said Caldwell University President Jeffrey D. Senese, Ph.D. “We created this scholarship to commend those efforts and pay tribute to their daily sacrifices.”

New students accepted for the 2025-26 academic year will automatically earn the Gold Ribbon Award as long as they indicate on the admission application that they are a dependent child of full-time military service member, police officer, firefighter or EMS member (active, retired, deceased) in the U.S. This annually renewable award is in addition to any other scholarships offered at the time of acceptance.

Since 1939, Caldwell University has been a proud teaching and learning institution that has stood proudly by its mission to promote the intellectual, spiritual and aesthetic growth to a diverse population of students. It reiterates this mission year after year by offering generous financial assistance, with the incoming Fall 2024 class earning an average scholarship and grant award of $33,000 per year.

Undergraduate students interested in attending Caldwell University for the Fall 2025 term who believe they are eligible for the Gold Ribbon Award should apply for admission using the Common App or Cougar App by December 15 to earn consideration. There is no fee to apply to Caldwell University.
