Caldwell University to host STEM Conference for K-12 Teachers for NJ STEM Month

In celebration of New Jersey STEM Month, Caldwell University will host its 2^nd Annual STEM conference for K-12 teachers, Friday, March 8.   The event is free and open to all New Jersey teachers and future educators.

 “We are excited to host the NJ STEM Conference and bring together teachers from all over New Jersey to discuss and learn about new methods in the delivery of STEM education,” said Jeffrey Egnatovich, program coordinator for Healthcare Administration in the School of Business and Computer Science at Caldwell University.  “Our keynote speaker will be Business and Technology Chair at Christian Brothers Academy, Michael Tomaino. We will end the day with a panel discussion using questions from the conference participants.”  Egnatovich said last year’s program was very well attended and they hope even more STEM educators will attend this year to contribute to NJ STEM Month, share best practices and network.

The month-long observance of NJ STEM Month aims to highlight the Garden State’s presence and accomplishments in STEM, including its industry, academic, government and non-profit sectors.

“New Jersey STEM Month and Caldwell University showcase the diversity and reach of STEM education, workforce and innovation in this state,” said Kim Case, executive director of the Research & Development Council of New Jersey and manager of the New Jersey STEM Pathways Network.  “Our goal this year is for 35,000 learners to be impacted and we appreciate all of the work of the New Jersey STEM community in helping us to achieve that goal.”

According to NJ STEM Patchways Network, “NJ STEM Month is a celebration co-hosted by the New Jersey STEM Pathways Network (NJSPN) and Research & Development Council of New Jersey that highlights the Garden State’s incredible accomplishments in science, technology, engineering, math and innovation. With the support of Governor Murphy’s administration and then Assembly man Andrew Zwicker’s office, NJ STEM Week expanded to include the entire month of March in 2018. March is now New Jersey STEM Month as designated by the New Jersey State Legislature and gubernatorial proclamation. ALL organizations in the state are called to showcase and celebrate excellent work in STEM for NJ STEM Month by hosting/attending events and engaging on social media.”
