Junior Joey Datta (Edison, N.J.) ran away from the field, securing his second consecutive CACC Men’s Cross Country individual championship to highlight the day at Belmont Plateau. Datta ran the 8K course in 26:43.00, outdistancing the nearest competitor by nearly 30 seconds in the dominant win.

Datta’s performance was supported by teammates freshman Alex Jamieson (Portree, Scotland), who placed 35th at 31:38.21, senior Alexander Geddes (Randolph, N.J.; ; 31:58.08, 43rd); freshman Logan Kudla (Bloomfield, N.J., 34:35.99, 49th) and soph Pharrell Mensah (Metuchen, N.J.; 37:06.72, 55th) as the Cougars took seventh place among the 11 teams.

Datta once again qualified for the NCAA Division II East Region Championship in two weeks in Rindge, N.H.
