Visiting Student Information
Welcome to Caldwell University! We are excited to have you! Please read through the following information to get started.
Note, once you enroll as a visiting student, you will be required to know and follow all academic policies, procedures, and registration guidelines. Academic policies can be found in our Catalog. Visiting students may be eligible to take up to 12 credits before having to apply to a matriculating program.
Undergraduate Course Request (100-400 level):
Those interested in taking undergraduate courses should complete a Visiting Student Application. It is the visiting student’s responsibility to ensure they have met the proper prerequisites to be successful in the requested course(s). If planning to transfer the requested course(s) to another institution, it is recommended to obtain approval from your home institution prior to enrolling. View our Course Offerings prior to submitting your request form to ensure your application and registration request can be processed. Full courses cannot be increased for visiting students.
Graduate Course Request (500 level and higher):
Those wishing to enroll in a graduate-level course, must apply for Visiting Non-matriculated admission through the Office of Graduate Admissions. Please contact Graduate Admissions at graduate@caldwell.edu or 973.618.3408 for more information.
Acceptance Process:
Once your visiting student application request has been accepted by Admissions, they will issue you a CU log in and password and instructions to begin registration. All visiting students must complete the Visiting Student Registration form to request to enroll into classes.
After Enrollment:
Once registered, you will be responsible to adhere to all Academic Policies and Procedures, along with any financial obligations. Non-attendance does not constitute a withdrawal. Be sure to review the Academic Calendar for important dates such as the last day to drop and withdraw. Requests to drop or withdraw can be made on the CU Portal, Student Resource Forms page. Please reach out to Registrar@caldwell.edu if you need assistance.
Accessing Academic Record:
Visiting Students can view grades on the Caldwell Portal. When a visiting student is no longer an “active student,” access to the portal will close down. If this occurs and you need a copy, you may order an Official Transcript through the National Student Clearinghouse. Please allow 3-5 days for processing
