Thomas J. Connaughton

Thomas J. Connaughton has over 40 years of experience in the banking industry, having served in bank security, lending, asset recovery, and audit positions. For several years, Tom was the Managing Director of Audit and Compliance at Citibank. In that role he was responsible for ensuring the protection of Citibank's assets and resources through a comprehensive program of identification and evaluation of risk potential and exposure to loss. His oversight included Audit, Regulatory Compliance, Vendor Management & Contract Administration, Continuity of Business and Records Management, Operational Risk Governance, and Loss Event Database methodology.

From 2005 thru May 2007, Tom was the Managing Director of Global Compliance Technologies at Citibank and is now the Managing Director of O&T Risk and Data Compliance. In May 2007, the Data Privacy Department was created with Tom as the Global O&T Data Privacy Leader.

Tom is a committee member of the NY Bankers Association and a working member of the Government Financial Institution interfacing with Government Intelligence Agencies and Government Technical Operations. Tom is past president of the New Jersey Bankers' Security Association. He was acknowledged in 2003 for Service and Contribution by the United States Secret Service New York Electronics Task Force. In 2004 the 108th Precinct commended him for his tireless effort and devotion to the NYPD.

From 1982 to 1986, Tom served as Mayor in the township of Bloomsbury, NJ. Prior to his being elected Mayor he was a Bloomsbury councilman for two years. Tom earned his B.S. from New York City University.
