STEVEN M. FREEMAN
CHAIR, CALDWELL COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEESSteven M. Freeman is Chair of the Caldwell College Board of Trustees. Steve and his family reside in Mendham, NJ. Steve is an avid outdoorsman enjoying freshwater fishing and golf. He has served on the Caldwell College board since 1999.
Steve was previously President of Cardinal Health, Healthcare Marketing Services in Wayne, a fully integrated, outsource provider of sales, marketing and medical education services to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. Freeman also served as senior vice president, marketing and sales of Knoll Pharmaceuticals, the U.S. division of BASF Pharma.
Before joining Knoll in April 1995, as a result of the merger with Boots Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Freeman was vice president, sales and marketing for Boots. He joined the pharmaceutical industry in 1973.
After receiving his B.A. degree in psychology from Briar Cliff College, Sioux City, Iowa, Freeman served two years in the U.S. Army. He holds a Master of Arts degree in industrial psychology from the University of Nebraska – Omaha.
He has served on the Board of Directors for the National Pharmaceutical Council, the Board of Directors for the Midwest Pharmaceutical Advertising Council and as a member of the Media Advertising Partnership for a Drug Free America and the Prescription Drug Advertising Coalition.
In April 2003, Caldwell College awarded Freeman its Presidential Award for his outstanding contributions to the business world and their communities. In 1988, Freeman received the Harrison K. McCann Leadership Award, presented by McCann Erickson Worldwide for consistent leadership and dedication.
In 1990, Freeman received the Distinguished Professional Achievement award from the Briar Cliff Alumni Association. He is also a member of the Board's Executive Committee and serves as chairman of the Development Committee and a member of the Academic Affairs Committee.
In addition to serving as chair, Steve is co-chair of the Capital Campaign cabinet. The 10 million dollar fund drive has raised over 4 million dollars in support of a dormitory construction project and numerous other projects.
ALEXANDER R. GIANQUINTO
VICE CHAIR, CALDWELL COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEESAlex Giaquinto, Ph.D. was elected to the Caldwell College Board of Trustees in 2003. He and his family are long time residents of West Caldwell. Alex and his wife Liz are active parishioners at St. Aloysius Parish in Caldwell. Alex also serves as Chairman of the Board of Children's Specialized Hospital Foundation, which is located in Mountainside and New Brunswick, New Jersey. Dr. Giaquinto retired from Schering Plough Corporation as Senior VP for worldwide regulatory affairs.
Alex graduated from St. John's University with a B.S. in Pharmacy and holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Medicine from the University of Connecticut. He has served on numerous boards within the pharmaceutical industry and currently consults within the industry.
In addition to serving as Vice Chair, Dr. Giaquinto is currently the chairman of the Caldwell College Development Committee and is co-chair of the Capital Campaign Cabinet. The 8 million dollar fund drive has raised over 5.3 million dollars in support of the new apartment style residence hall and numerous other projects in the college strategic plan - 2010 Excellence in Action.
